R.I.P MSN

the end of an era.. Skype has killed Windows Live Messenger
or "retired service globally" as they put it, to transfer your contacts to skype
Which sucks, I don't like this very much
I feel like Johnny Cash's dad in Walk the Line
"THE WRONG PROGRAM DIED!"

I first got MSN in 2004, and filled it up with friends from school and devart and all over the world. And I got skype later in 2006, and enjoyed it as an alternative, and was very useful to me to record dialogue from afar for animation projects. Great for video chatting, but just as a IM service, I never liked it.
MSN always felt like home.
It was always the first program I installed everytime i got a new computer or reformatted an old one.
It was the first program to load up automatically everytime i logged in.
And more than that, just a year or two ago, they let you merge your facebook account to use MSN in place of facebook chat. Which was AWESOME cuz nobody likes facebook chat.
Now, come March 15th, only Skype remains..

This sounds really silly, to be sad about a chat program.
because MSN has really been a ghost town for the last few years.
and complaining about another chat service sounds really FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS

But it feels bad. Like a funeral for a friend.
