There was a contest some time last year to re-draw old arts,
and I loved the idea, but missed the contest by a long time!

and *Kaname-Nakajima asked me if id ever be interested in drawing Leeloo again from 5th Element! so i thought, why not draw the same picture again!

Both versions are great in their own rights, at the time of their completion, with what skills you used.

Of course though, drawing something a 2nd time usually produces a better end result ;)

The boots ARE pretty damn fantastic...it was definately not time wasted in doing those ^_^ I'm also quite fond of shine on her pants, and overall the way you re-did her outfit to make it look mmore realistic.

That said, I really miss the anime-style look the original had...it was cute. Still, love the way you remade it. <3 Great job!

mm yes, thats something im a bit frustrated about..
im fascinated with trying to create realism in photoshop
but the more real you get, the more your style dissappears
i hope i can bring some style back into it in the future

Trying to improve or learning new things is never a bad thing, and like I said, this piece turned out really good. ^^ But the thing I like about your artwork is that i can scroll through a list of deviations and instantly pick out which one is yours because you have a wonderful and distinctive style.
I guess what I'm saying is, keep doing what your doing with photoshop because it looks great...just don't lose the 'you' that's in your artwork :)
